In Memory of my Mother (Mma Teacher; Eka Abro Vic)

This Webpage is dedicated to the memory of Mrs. Grace Inyang (Mma Teacher/Eka Abro Vic), the mother of Dr. Victor Udo. Mama was a good person (Mma akede eti awo), everyone said so (afure awo ebo ntere), Mma was a good person (Mma akede eti awo)! This was the theme song of Mama Grace’s life celebration.

Our Mother was born in Igala Land of the present-day Kogi State of Nigeria in 1938 to two young Qua Iboe Church (QIC) missionaries from Annang Land (a subset of Abasi People) of the present day Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria. She was involved in many Churches that participated in her funeral including the QIC General Superintendent and the CME Church Bishop.

She went to be with the Lord on July 7th 2020 and was laid to rest on December 23rd 2021 due to Covid 19 restrictions. To the glory of God and by His grace and mercy, we celebrated her uniquely by going against typical modern traditions:

  • Instead of uniforms, we provided wrappers to over 150 widows
  • Instead of offering, we gave out over 2,500 exercise books to school children who needed them the most
  • Women representatives from various Churches, Villages and Organizations honored Mma and other women in her with a match past
  • Instead of a typical survenier, we distributed a magazine-styled program booklet for the contemporary and posterity
  • We give God the glory!

This Webpage is created in her honor for posterity. It highlights some of the celebration of life (funeral and burial) activities in written, audio and video clips. Feel free to click, view and share any clip of interest – To God Be the Glory!
